In short, anyone with a verified phone number and “Discovery option” turned on in their Google+ profile will have their names and profile photos display on each other’s Android phone when calling. Note: This feature is not live yet, but it goes live on all Android 4.4 Kitkat smartphones very soon. If you are unhappy with this feature, you can turn off it. To turn off this feature, sign in your Google account or go to https://www.google.com/settings/phone and uncheck the option “Help people who have your phone number find you on Google services and connect with you“.
