In this guide, we will show you how to get Android 7.0 Nougat on Moto X 2014 via CyanogenMod 14 build. XDA contributor SeannyM has created Android 7.0 Nougat based unofficial CyanogenMod 14 ROM for Moto X 2014, which you can install on your device and experience Nougat. Check out the guide below to know how to flash CM14 on Moto X 2014 XT1095.

Before get start, note that though most things are working fine (except video recording with stock camera app), the present status of the ROM is Beta, which means it contains bugs that are not yet fixed and identified. To get this build on your Moto X 2014 follow the steps below and do not forget to create a backup data you have on your phone before you jump to the guide. Installation Instruction

  1. Download CyanogenMod 14 (unofficial) for Moto X 2014 (victara) ROM zip file from development page here and Android 7.0 compatible Gapps zip file from here. Place both zip file on your phone’s SD card.
  2. Boot your Moto X 2014 into custom TWRP recovery (press Power button + Volume down key together).
  3. In TWRP recovery, select ‘Wipe’ and wipe System, Data, Cache and Dalvik Cache.
  4. Now, from main custom recovery menu, select “Install”, then choose the ROM zip file and flash it. Repeat the same for flashing Gapps zip file.
  5. Once done, again, wipe Cache (to fix boot loop), then reboot the phone and let it settle. Note: If your permission boxes are not working properly, do the below steps. – Create a text file named “gapps-config.txt” – In the text file, write “PackageInstallerGoogle” (no quotes) – Download the latest Open GApps – Place the text file and the GApps in the same folder on your phone – Flash the GApps, then (re) flash the ROM Leave your views in the comment section below (Source – XDA)
