Starting with Android 9, Google changed the horizontal volume slider to the vertical volume slider. It is more convenient, as it is easily reachable with your thumb. However, Samsung does not yet utilize the vertical volume slider even in the One UI 2.0 (Android 10). Though the latest One UI 2.0 features the horizontal volume slider, Samsung provides a way to change it to vertical. With the help of the latest version of Samsung Sound Assistant app (v3.3.07.0), you can switch to vertical volume sliding.
Steps to change volume slider style on Samsung Galaxy phone
To get vertical volume slider on your Samsung Galaxy phone, follow the steps. Keep in mind that it requires OneUI 2.0 (Android 10) on your device. Note that the volume panel theme should be set to Sero. The Classic theme won’t bring the vertical slider. Samsung Sound Assistant has several other features as well for One UI.
