Recently, Xiaomi released a new Android 8.0 update for Mi A1 with latest security patch, fixes and improvements. If you have not received the update, head over to Settings > About Phone > Software updates > to check for the new software update. Experienced users can try the new leaked Android 8.1 Oreo (build 8.5.11) on their device.

Before proceeding, we remind you that this build is intended for beta testers only. As this is the beta version of the upcoming update, we do not recommend flashing this ROM if you have little or no experience in flashing ROMs. Proceed at your own risk! If you would like to try the 8.5.11 update on Xiaomi Mi A1, then proceed with below steps. This guide requires unlocked bootloader on the phone.   1. Download Mi A1 OPM1.171019.019.8.5.11 (beta) from source here to your PC.
  2. Unzip the ROM zip file and save all the content where ADB is installed on your PC.
  3. Boot the phone into fastboot mode and then connect it to your PC.
  4. Inside the ADB directory, open a command window and execute the command “fastboot devices” to see your device is listed.
  5. Now, run flash_A.bat or flash_B.bat file This will install required firmware files on your device. If it does not work, then you may need to install each firmware file manually as given below.
