How to Manually install Android 5.1 OTA Update on Moto X 2014 (XT1092)
Important Note: The firmware listed below is the over-the-air (OTA) file from XDA Developers, but it is the same that Motorola sent out to users. As this is an official file, you cannot install it on a rooted phone. It supports Moto X (2014) XT1092. Do not try to install it on other models. Note: Backup every data on your phone, just in case. - Download 5.1 OTA update zip file [HERE] (via – xda) (Blur_Version.22.121.1.victara_reteu.reteuall.en.EU .zip) and move it to your phone’s internal memory.
- Now, reboot your phone into recovery mode. To do so, press Vol (-) and Power buttons together for few seonds. Choose Recovery using Vol (-) button and select it using Vol (+) button. If nothing sees, press and hold Vol (-) & Vol (+) for few seconds and while holding them, press and release the power button.
- From recovery menu, choose install update from sdcard
- Select the previously transferred OTA .zip file
- Once completed, reboot your phone.
Your Moto X 2014 will now boot into Android 5.1 Lollipop (Source – XDA)
