The Android 7.1.1 Nougat based AICP 12.1 custom ROM for Lenovo A6000/Lenovo A6000 Plus is almost stable and there were no major bugs in this ROM. However, since the ROM is built on CyanogenMod 14.1 Nightly, you may experience glitches and cannot be used as a daily driver. If you are ready to face few issues, proceed with installation.
Note: To install AICP 12.1 custom ROM, your Lenovo A6000/Plus should be running on Android 5.0 Lollipop or Android 6.0 Marshmallow based custom ROM. The below guide assume that you have root access and latest version of TWRP recovery (v3…) on your device. Create a backup of data you have on your phone before you jump to the guide.
How to install AICP 12.1 custom ROM (Android 7.1.1) on Lenovo A6000
- Download AICP 12.1 custom ROM from here or latest version from here. Also, download Gapps zip file (Android 7.1/arm) from here. Copy both files to your phone’s SD card.
- Boot your device into TWRP Recovery mode (Switch off the phone, press and hold Volume down and Power button together)
- In TWRP recovery, choose ‘Backup’ and create a backup of the current ROM (recommended)
- Return to main TWRP menu, choose ‘Wipe’ and wipe Data, System, Cache and Dalvik Cache.
- Now, choose ‘Install’, navigate to AICP 12.1 ROM zip file and flash it. Once done, do not reboot your phone. Once again, select ‘Install’, choose Gapps zip file and flash it.
