In the guide, we show you how to install Oppo’s Marshmallow based near stock Project Spectrum ROM on Oppo F1. Released earlier this year, Oppo F1 is a decent mid-range smartphone running on Color OS 2.1 (Android Lollipop 5.1). The current status of Oppo’s near stock Android OS is Beta, which means the firmware is unstable and you may come across issues while using the phone. Note: The below procedure will wipe your data on your phone. Backup every data (use the Backup & restore app) before updating to the new OS, in case you want to go back to ColorOS.
How to Flash Oppo’s near stock Android OS on Oppo F1
- Download Project Spectrum ROM (F1fSpectrum_V1.0_Beta_full_002.zip) [HERE] and save it on your phone’s internal memory.
- Now, turn off the phone and boot into recovery. To do so, hold down Power key + Volume down key at the same time, when OPPO logo appears release your fingers, after a few seconds you will enter recovery mode.
- Select Language
- Now, select ‘Wipe data and cache’ and then ‘yes’.
- Once done, select ‘Install from sd’
- Navigate and tap the stock Android OS (you have downloaded and saved on the phone) and press “Yes”.
- When the flashing is finished, tap “Reboot” to finish updating. Note that, the first boot will take little more time. Enjoy pure vanilla Android experience on your Oppo F1 (source – Oppo)
