If you do not have the OTA update for some reason, here is how to install the update manually.
If you have not received the OTA notification for the new update on your device yet, you can check it manually by going to Settings > About Phone > System updates > Check for update. How to Install MIUI 8 Global Stable 8.2.9.0.MCCMIDL ROM on Redmi 4A
- Download 8.2.6.9.MCCMIDL ROM [HERE] and save it on your Redmi 4A’s internal memory.
- Launch the ‘Updater’ app on your phone, tap on 3 horizontal dots (…)at the top-right corner, select ‘Choose update package’ and then select the ROM file you have saved.
- Your device will start updating and will reboot after finishing the update. (Source – MIUI)
