Once it is installed and set up, BBM cannot be closed. A persistent notification icon appears in the status bar, but you can turn this off in Settings menu if you find it annoying. How to turn off BBM’s persistent notification on Android?
Run BBM and tap on the three vertical dots. It’ll bring more options.
Tap on “Settings” and under “Notifications” switch off the “BBM Connected Icon” option. That’s all! Please note that, when you turn off the BBM connected icon, BBM messages might not be delivered or delivery might be delayed if your device’s memory is low.
