The following method shows you how to update your Sony Xperia T to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with CyanogenMod 12 custom ROM. CM12 is based on the new Android 5.0.2 Lollipop OS, which means users can enjoy all Lollipop and CM features on their device by flashing the CM12 ROM. Before you get start installing CyanogenMod 12 custom ROM on your Xperia T, keep in mind that currently the ROM is a nightly build, which means it is unstable and some features may not work, as it would be. So, do not install the nightly build on a regularly using phone.

How to Install Android 5.0.2 Lollipop on Sony Xperia T with CyanogenMod 12 Custom ROM

Important: As always, create a backup of all important data in your Xperia T. Also, make a Nandroid back up of your device from custom recovery. Do not try this ROM on other Xperia devices! Requisites: – Sony Xperia T must be rooted and Custom Recovery like CWM or TWRP installed (find a solution at XDA forum). – CyanogenMod 12 (mint) ROM zip file (download from here) – Gapps zip file for CM12 (download from here) Installation Instruction

  1. Transfer the downloaded CM 12 ROM zip file and Gapps zip file to the phone memory.
  2. Switch off your phone and boot it into Recovery mode. From recovery, wipe data/factory reset, wipe cache partition and the dalvik cache.
  3. Now go to “Install zip” and then “Select zip”. Choose the CM 12 ROM zip file. Do the same for Gapps zip file.
  4. Once again, wipe cache partition and dalvik cache. Then select “wipe data/factory reset” option and perform full system wipe. (It will fix boot loop issue)
  5. Now, return to the main recovery menu and select reboot system now. The device will now boot into CyanogenMod 12. Note: The first boot will take a few minutes.
